REVEALED: This Is Why Tukur Could Not Be Removed

photoSome governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) attempted to remove the party chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, but their attempts hit the rocks bcause of these reasons.
According to findings, the first reason was the dilemma of finding someone else to replace the chairman.
An administration official who spoke with Nigerian Tribune on the issue disclosed that if Tukur is sacked now, the National Deputy Chairman must take over in line with the constitution of the party.
“The National Deputy Chairman is Chief Uche Secondus from Rivers State. Will they accept a South South person to chair the party considering that the Board of Trustees, the PDP Governors Forum is from Niger Delta?” the official said.
“There is also the problem of who to select among those names being mentioned. We have so many issues at hand now that we cannot afford another distraction,” the source said.
The second reason why Tukur could not be removed, was that many people around the president were scared of convening  another emergency convention at a time the fall-out of the last one was still boiling in the political space.
It was the last convention that triggered the PDP crisis which further led to the defection of five governors to the opposition party, APC.

“We are still in trouble  over the last convention. Even if they accept Secondus as interim party chairman, the emergency convention can be used by enemies within to launch another rebellion. So, you see our dilemma now,” the official said.
It was however gathered that the governors were, however, pushing that those issues could be sorted out after the removal of the chairman, a position President Goodluck Jonathan was reported to have rejected
